National parks and natural attractions

December 3, 2024 Destination

Zadar is an ideal starting point for excursions to several national parks and natural attractions. The Kornati, Paklenica, Plitvice Lakes, and Krka Waterfalls National Parks are within easy reach. Each of them is a unique natural wonder and an unforgettable experience.

National park Kornati, with its 140 islands, it offers the opportunity to explore hidden coves, crystal-clear lagoons, and untouched nature. A true paradise for diving and sailing enthusiasts. If you want to experience the beauty of Kornati, I highly recommend taking one of the organized excursions. Feel free to contact us if you would like us to organize a trip for you!

Paklenica, a mountain park stretching across the Velebit massif, is a favorite destination for hikers, climbers, and anyone eager to explore the stunning world of Croatian mountains and forests. Truly a unique experience, even for me, who has never hiked before. I was amazed in every way—the peace, the silence, and the lack of mobile signal. Priceless!

Plitvice lakes, the oldest national park in Croatia, was established in 1949. The park is famous for its 16 interconnected lakes, which cascade into one another over breathtaking waterfalls and cascades, creating awe-inspiring scenery. If your plans allow, make sure to visit this stunning national park.

And finally, let me introduce you to Galešnjak Island. Located in the Zadar archipelago, it is known for its unique heart-shaped form, which earned it the nickname “Island of Love.” Covering an area of approximately 0.132 km², this island is small and uninhabited. Its beauty attracts visitors from all over the world.

The island is covered with Mediterranean vegetation, and the surrounding sea is crystal clear. Although it is not an official national park, the island is protected as a natural asset.

To wrap things up!

Be prepared for full-day excursions because each of these natural wonders offers a unique experience that will stay with you forever! I would dare to say that all of these national parks are truly among the most beautiful in the world.
